Happy New Year!

I picked up Amy Carmichael's "Edges of His ways" this morning, to get some directions for my thoughts on this first day of 2010. (btw how does one abbreviate 2010. Last year "09" seemed OK. I guess someone will set a trend. I've heard people SAY "twenty-ten" but to simply write 10 seems a bit odd!).

Anyway, I found that the title of AC's book comes from a verse at the end of the 26th chapter of the Bible book of Job. Job had been listing some of the wonderful capabilities of God, including that

"He covers the face of the full moon, spreading His clouds over it."

Then I remembered an article in today's Advertiser.

I was not up late to see if God had covered the moon with cloud last night - but since thunder storms were forecast, I guess He might have!

Getting back to the book title: It's from the last verse of Job 26 - the chapter it relates to
"And these are but the edges of His ways;
How faint the whisper we hear of Him!
Who then can understand the thunder of His power?"
Have an "awesome" year!
