Then we graduated to a 35mm and slides. Like everyone else, we have billions of them! So I've been inspired to start scanning them. It's not as arduous a task as I thought - just VERY time consuming at 4 slides per 6 minutes.
This was taken when I went with Franklin to visit an island village. We'd gone there in a little "tinny" from the island of Sohano where we lived. Next day I flew north to Rabaul to await the inevitable! At 38w I can't imagine why I didn't remain at home - except that maybe I thought that as he was the only doctor in the District I was better with him than without him!!
..... in the days before anyone carried a water bottle!!
