The background to this quilt is:While in Pt Lincoln in November last year I signed up to do a "Surprise Quilt", which is just that. Fourteen of us showed up on the day, paid our money, accepted the fabric we were each given, and did as we were told! The result: Each one made a quilt-top named "Just call me Max". It was a 9am-4pm day of absolute delight.
Max is the father of the delightful little lady, Elizabeth Williams (kneeling in the foreground) who runs "Patchwork Pear" http://www.patchworkpear.com.au/ in Pt Lincoln. This was Elizabeth's almost-completed quilt. She and her staff are so very welcoming, helpful, and entertaining! I just love going there.
